Angry Birds Samurai was a rejected Angry Birds animated series pitched in 2015. All that's known so far is that the series would have took place in feudal Japan with the birds and pigs being redesigned (similar to that of The Angry Birds Movie) to fit the country's premise.

    Description

"In 2015, I pitched a Japanese style animation based on the characters of Angry Birds. The project was titled “Angry Birds Samurai” and takes place in the feudal Japan. I created a basic story-line, characters designs, image boards and animatics. These are the common components of animation project proposal (usually called pitch or kikaku 企画)." - Edo Haruma, 2016

    Trivia

    • The character designs resemble that of Agri Birds and The Angry Birds Movie
    • In one piece of concept art, there is a pink pig, as opposed to the usual green. It is unknown if this pig was an ally or an enemy of the birds.
    • King Pig still uses his design from Angry Birds Toons if the head portion was the only part of him shown. The only main difference is that he doesn't have his crown.
