Red Planet is the 5th episode in Angry Birds Space. In the trailer, after travelling a great distance, the Mars Curiosity Rover has still not found anything. The Ice Bird then flies by and freezes it.

In the beginning cutscene for Red Planet, the episode starts when the Angry Birds find the landing of the Mars Curiosity Rover. The Space Pigs also saw it and thought it could be useful for stealing eggs, so they hijacked it, making the Birds give chase.

In the levels, there are fiery meteorites that are similar to frozen meteorites and popcorn kernels, only when the crumbs explode, it destroys most obstacles just as easily. There are also small, smoking, active, fiery volcano with steam, which send the birds flying up. You can also see a pit of boiling lava that bubbles in the volcanoes. Speaking of volcanoes, it's pretty strange for the small volcanoes to be active because normally, Mars's volcanoes are not active. Anyway, the leves also consists mainly multiple red planets. Sometimes extra surfaces of the levels with fissures of lava can be seen in the levels as well. The blue Crystal Shards, not to be confused with the Crystal Mushrooms from Cold Cuts, Fry Me to the Moon, and the Danger Zone, give you 3000 points like most shining objects, excluding Eggsteroids and Rovers. The background of the levels is a yellow sky with stars, surface of the Red Planet, dust clouds from top to bottom, and a planet that sort of looks like Jupiter. The Background music of Red Planet is pretty errie if you ask me and has background sounds of boiling magma and lava.

    Trivia:

    • Red Planet currently consists of 20 fiery new levels with 2 new Space Egg Bonus Levels when you get 3 stars on all the levels of each page of an episodes (example: 5-1 to 5-100. The final 10 levels and last Space Egg Bonus Level will be coming soon.
    • Red Planet contains 3 new eggsteroids based on the rovers that landed on Mars, Viking Lander, Sojourner, and Opportunity. They, respectively, represent Eggsteroids levels E-R1, E-R2, and E-R3 and they all got the same stage background, background music, and features as on Red Planet. They be seen in a second page in Eggsteroids. Hint: These special Eggsteroids are seen as the rovers and can be found somewhere in levels 5-3, 5-12, and 5-18 in the order the rovers are mentioned. Good luck.
    • You can learn more about the Rovers Viking Lander, Sojourner, and Oppurtunity by clicking on the information buttons ("i" buttons) next to the Rovers or, if you haven't unlocked them yet, the Rover Silhouettes.
    • Say hello to an all new enemy: the Astronaut Pig. This Moustache Pig has a special helmet that has more protection than most common air bubbles that keep the Pigs breathing when not in gravitational forces, making it diffcult to pop. He is mainly seen as a background character i the level selection screen of Red Planet and as a common enemy in the Rover Eggsteroid Levels. In the level selection screen, the Astronaut Pig's helmet CAN'T be popped from a touch of a finger.
    • Red Planet is the first Story Mode episode to have a different colored gravitation forcefields than most episodes. The color for the gravitational forcefields in Red Planet, as well as the Rover Eggstroid Levels, are colored WHITE/BEIGE.
    • The Rover Eggsteroid Levels makes the second time that some Eggsteroid levels don't always have YELLOW graivitational forcefields, with the first time being the Samsung Galaxy Exclusive Eggsteroid. This is because the Rover Eggstoroid Levels have the same color for gravitational forcefields as Red Planet, WHITE/BEIGE.
    • This is the second episode in Angry birds space where the Orange Bird makes his appearance, with the first episode being Utopia. He hasn't been seen in many levels thus time, though.
