Currently known Birds in Angry Birds Space

Further information is forthcoming on the Birds appearing in Angry Birds Space, but here is what we know or can surmise from the available information. Birds names as appear here are not official and used only as placeholders.

The only name that is known is "Lazer Bird" from the file name of images added to the Angry Birds Google+ page on February 17, 2012.

Red Bird

The Red Bird (Ca-Caw!) appears to be analogous to Classic Red Bird. Besides a graphical redesign, the Red Bird seems to be the same as always.

Blue Birds

The Blue Birds (Bip! Bap! Bop!) appear to be analogous to Classic Blue Birds. Again graphically redesigned, the Blue Birds still have the tripling ability.

Black Bird

The Black Bird (Ka-Boom!) appears to be analogous to Classic Black Bird. Graphically redesigned the Black Bird is still an explosive, able to be detonated ever manually or shortly after impact

Big Brother Bird

The Big Brother Bird (Bash!) appears to be analogous to Classic Big Brother Bird, but now green in color. It seems to have no ability besides its mass and momentum.

Lazer Bird

The Lazer bird (Zzzt!) appears to be analogous to Classic Yellow Bird, but now purple in color and with a slightly different ability. The player taps the screen, choosing a new directional target. The bird then turns at a sharp angle and accelerates toward the new target. The image titles from Google+ use the spelling "lazer", and Rovio has confirmed the name via their Twitter account.

On March 9, 2012, the Angry Birds Facebook page updated with a video of the Lazer Bird in action, presented by the Samsung Galaxy Note. The description on the SamsungMobile YouTube channel reads:

The Lazer Bird, introduced by Samsung, perfectly reflects the personality of Samsung's GALAXY Note. The bird's lazer vision resembles the best viewing experience on the crisp and expansive screen and its lazer strike super power the high performance.

New characters, including the Lazer Bird in Angry Birds Space have unique superhero powers to help in their fight against the space pigs and bring their eggs safely back home.

Ice Bird

The Ice Bird (Froshh!) is a new bird that appears to freeze an area on impact. From the video released in the March 8th announcement, you can see that the Ice Bird explodes (not destroying anything) on impact with a structure, and covers the surounding blocks with ice (probably making the blocks brittle and easier to break).

Egg

An egg is shown in some photos for Angry Birds Space. It looks like a normal egg but has an antennae sticking out of the top of it.
