Popping golden pigs has become a requirement in the newest update

In recent gameplays I found that if the golden pig was not popped, the fast forward ⏩ button will not show up to allow me to progress the next level, unlike in previous versions.

So I was curious about what happens if a player shoots out all the birds in the last stage, with the only golen pig left. I tried experimented myself, and the outcome is that the player is considered failing the level. In other words, golden pigs are now required to be popped to finish a stage or a level.

    Here are my screenshots:

    1. Leaving out the last golden pig.

    2. The dialog pops up informing that I have failed the level. (This time I was offered to watch a video to get an extra bird.)

Interestingly, it says that I have 2 pigs left instead of 1.

    3. I was then offered Bomb to pop out the last golden pig.

Hence popping golden pigs has become a requirement to win a level.
