The Slingshot is an object that appears in the Angry Birds series. It is a mass-produced projectile weapon most famously used by the Angry Birds.

    Description

    Appearance

Overall, the Slingshot is a large Y-shaped figure that is attached to a surface. While the Slingshot may be made from multiple materials, it is most commonly made out of wood. The upper two ends of the Slingshot have a flexible strap (commonly black or dark brown-colored) attached to them.

    Game appearances

    Angry Birds (game)

In the original Angry Birds, the Slingshot appears as the main gameplay item, appearing in all the levels of the game. In this game, it resembles a Y-shaped wooden figure with a dark brown flexible strap attached to the upper ends. In gameplay, the playable characters will hop onto the Slingshot by turns, waiting for the other to be launched. To launch a character, the player has to drag the finger onto the character that is on the Slingshot and move them. In addition, the player can also change the power of the launch of the playable character; the further the playable character is from the Slingshot, the more powerful will be the launch. However, the player will be unable to launch upwards due to the stick of the Slingshot preventing them to do so. In addition, if the playable character is in between of the upper ends of the Slingshot, they will cancel the shot. To launch a playable character, the player simply has to release their finger from the screen. The area that was traveled by the character will be marked by small white dots.

The abilities of the Slingshot can be upgraded temporarily with the use of power-ups to increase its effectiveness; by the use of the King Sling power-up, the standard Slingshot will be replaced with a metal Slingshot, which will launch the characters even further away than before; by using the Sling Scope power-up, the Slingshot will have a telescope attached on it that will produce a visible trail that will predict the area that the character will travel.

    Angry Birds Rio

In Angry Birds Rio, the Slingshot returns as the main gameplay item. In the Rio segment of the game, it has the same appearance as it had in the original Angry Birds, while in the Rio 2 levels, its upper ends are taller and the strap attached to them is pink-colored. In gameplay, it appears in all the levels of the game with the same elements as those from the original Angry Birds, except that this time, the player will be unable to cancel their shots. In addition, the Sling Scope power-up will attach a telescope on the Slingshot that will produce a visible trail that will predict the area that the character will travel.

    Angry Birds Seasons

In Angry Birds Seasons, the Slingshot is, once again, the main gameplay item, with the same appearance and functions as in the original Angry Birds. By using the Sling Scope power-up, the Slingshot will have a telescope attached on it that will produce a visible trail that will predict the area that the character will travel.
